ORLANDO, Fla. - Top-seeded North Carolina defeated No. 4 seeded Wake Forest 2-0 in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

First-team All-ACC midfielder Laurie Schwoy posted the Tar Heels' first goal at the 39:01 mark with a backwards flick into the box off the pass from Rakel Karvelsson and Raven McDowell. ACC Player of the Year Cindy Parlow picked up the insurance goal at the 71:09 mark delivering a 40-yard lob over the head of Wake's goalkeeper Sari Rose.

The Tar Heels will face No. 3 seeded Clemson in the title match for the second time in three years. In 1996 North Carolina outscored the Tigers 4-1 to claim the conference crown behind the play of Tournament MVP Robin Confer. The championship match will be played on Sunday, November 8, at 1:00 PM and will be aired live by the ACC's regional sports networks (Home Team Sports, FOX Sports South and Sunshine Network).
