Clemson Women's Soccer Team Defeats Duke 1-0 Saturday Night at Riggs Field

The 25th-ranked Lady Tiger soccer team defeated Duke on Saturday night in their final game of the regular season. With the win, Clemson improves to 9-4-5 overall and 2-3-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Duke falls to 8-4-6 (3-3-4 ACC).

Clemson took eight shots to Duke's 10 and the Lady Tigers had five corner kicks to the Blue Devils' seven. Lady Tiger senior goalkeeper Ashley Phillips recorded three saves and Duke keeper Allison Lipsher also posted three saves in the contest.

Elizabeth Jobe netted her fourth goal of the season, and what proved to be the game winner, on Senior Day. Jobe received the ball near midfield and dribbled it past a Duke defender before taking a long-range shot. The 27-yard boot went into the lower left corner of the net past the diving Lipsher to give the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead.
