FSU Upsets UNC 3-2 In OT
In what was a game for the ages, seventh-ranked Florida State (12-2-1, 5-1-1 ACC) got a game-winning goal from sophomore Ella Stephan off a corner with just 12 seconds left in double overtime to register a 3-2 victory over No. 2 North Carolina (12-2-1, 5-2-0 ACC).

In front of a sell out crowd of 2,000 fans, the second largest crowd in school history, the Seminoles snapped the Tar Heels 14-game unbeaten streak in the series while recording just their second win all-time against UNC.

The last win in the series for FSU also came in dramatic fashion back in 2000 as Kristin Boyce tallied the game-winner in double overtime to give the Garnet and Gold a 3-2 win.

Four goals propel No. 15 Hokies past No.5 Demon Deacons
The No. 15 Hokies snapped a two-game, conference losing streak with a big win over the No. 5 Demon Deacons, earning their first-ever win at Wake Forest. The Hokies rallied for four goals in the match, a season high that has been done only two other times this year, as Jennifer Harvey and Kelly Conheeney tallied a score apiece while Marika Gray added two goals for the Hokies.

Tech (12-4-0, 5-2-0 ACC) took control right away, earning a corner kick and moments later began firing as Robin Chidester missed high. By the third minute, Harvey put the Hokies on the board as she remains perfect on the season in penalty kicks, netting her fourth of the year after a Wake Forest (12-3-1, 4-2-1 ACC) foul in the box. This marks her seventh goal on the year, which more than doubles her career number heading into the season.

The Hokies didn’t allow the Deacons to take a shot until the 12th minute and only allowed three shots, one on goal, until the 34th minute, when Wake’s Allie Sadow would break through the Hokie back line, putting the ball into the left side of the net from six yards out.

Spencer Leads No. 8 Terps To Win
Sophomore Jasmyne Spencer scored twice to lead the No. 8 University of Maryland women's soccer team to a 3-0 shutout at Clemson Thursday night at Riggs Field.

The victory gives the Terps a 4-2-2 mark in conference play and marks just the fourth time in school history that the team has won four ACC games in a season. Overall, Maryland improved to 12-2-2 on the season, which is the program's highest win total since going 13-8-1 in 2002.

Clemson, which dropped to 3-13 on the year and 0-8 in the ACC, played the Terps tough in the first half and sent the game into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.

Cavaliers Score 1-0 Win at Duke
The Virginia women’s soccer team snapped a four-game winless streak and picked up its first road win of the season with a 1-0 win at Duke Thursday night at Koskinen Stadium. Jess Rostedt’s (Kent, Ohio) goal in the 40th minute was all the Cavaliers needed to improve to 7-5-3 overall and 2-4-1 in the ACC.

The Cavaliers had the better of chances in the first half and took advantage to take a 1-0 lead in with just over five minutes remaining. Lauren Alwine’s (Elizabethtown, Pa.) cross to the far post was played back across the front of goal by Sinead Farrelly (Havertown, Pa.) to Rostedt, who tapped in her seventh goal of the season. It was the first time Virginia led at the half in five games.

The chances were few for both teams in the second half and the Cavaliers were able to keep Duke from finding the equalizer. It was the sixth shutout of the season for Virginia, and the first in five games.

NC State Draws 1-1 At Miami
A critical game for both NC State and Miami ended up in a 1-1 draw Thursday evening in an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer match at Cobb Stadium.

The two clubs entered the match tied for eighth in the ACC standings. A win by either club would have made things a bit easier in qualifying for the league’s postseason tournament as the top-eight clubs will compete for the ACC title in November at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

In addition, Virginia beat Duke 1-0 tonight in Durham and is now tied with NC State and Miami for eighth in the standings as all three schools have seven points, one behind the seventh-place Blue Devils.
