No. 6 Wake Forest Wins Fifth Straight, Defeats Miami 2-0 The Demon Deacons won their fifth straight, improving their record to 12-2-1 and 4-1-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Miami dropped to 7-8-0 and 2-4-0 in league play. After a scoreless first half, the game opened up in the second 45 minutes, with the two teams combining for 15 shots. Wake tallied two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half as Harrington scored in the 47th minute and Logue scored in the 53rd minute. No. 8 Boston College Earns 1-0 Win At No. 16 Virginia Tech The win improves the Eagles to 12-2-1 (4-2-1 ACC), while the loss drops the Hokies to 11-4-0 (4-2-0 ACC). Boston College opened the scoring in the ninth minute of the game as DiMartino got the ball off a deflection in the box, gathered herself, and blasted a shot past the Virginia Tech goalkeeper in the lower right hand corner of the goal to give BC the lead. #10 Terps Rally For 3-2 Win Over NC State The game got off to a rocky start for the Terrapins midway through the first half. The Wolfpack converted on a corner kick in the 25th minute when Katie Ruiz sent a deep ball to the left corner of the Maryland 18-yard box. Meredith Parrilla got on the end of the cross and headed the ball into the upper right 90 for a 1-0 NC State lead. The Wolfpack took advantage of another set piece in the 35th minute to up their lead to 2-0. A Maryland foul gave NC State a free kick just inside the midfield stripe. Ruiz sent another ball into the Terrapin box and this time it Kara Blosser getting on the end of it and heading it into the upper right corner. Blue Devils Blank Tigers; Notch Third Straight Shutout Duke registered its third straight shutout in the victory and moved to 6-5-4 overall and 2-2-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) action. The Blue Devils had not registered a victory at Clemson since the 1997 season. The Blue Devils and Tigers (3-12, 0-7) played a scoreless first half, which featured Clemson holding a 6-5 advantage in shots and outplaying Duke.
