Women's Soccer ACCtion: Wednesday, October 17
Oct. 18, 2007 Steinbruch Nets a Pair of Goals to Lead Miami Soccer Past FIU, 3-1 Freshman Brittney Steinbruch (Wyckoff, N.J.) netted a pair of goals on Wednesday evening to lead the University of Miami women's soccer team to its third-straight win, downing Florida International, 3-1, in non-conference action at University Park. With the win, the Hurricanes improve to 9-3-3 on the season and 6-3-1 all-time versus the Golden Panthers. FIU is one of just two teams Miami has faced in all 10 seasons it has had a women's soccer program, as the Hurricanes will face the other familiar foe - Florida State - in ACC competition on Sunday. Steinbruch didn't need long to get the Hurricanes on the scoreboard, firing in back-to-back goals in the 12th and 16th minutes. Sophomore Jessica Wyble (Potomac, Md.) registered her third assist of the season on Steinbruch's first goal of the game, while senior Sheuneen Ta (London, England) added her second assist of the season - and the 12th of her career to move into a tie for seventh place in UM history in career assists - on Steinbruch's second goal-the game-winner.
