Nogueira Strikes For Four Goals As UNC Blanks Wolfpack

RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior forward Casey Nogueira exploded for four goals Friday night, the most by a Tar Heel player in over five years, as the North Carolina women's soccer team defeated NC State 5-0 at Method Road Soccer Stadium. Nogueira's four goals move her into a tie for second place for the most tallies in the nation this season as she has 17, only one behind Michigan State freshman Laura Heyboer who has 18.

Nogueira has now scored 11 goals in the past six matches, all against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. Her four goals gave her a second hat trick this season (also versus Wake Forest October 5) and the third of her career. The four goals are the most by a Tar Heel in a match since October 14, 2003 when Lindsay Tarpley tallied four goals in a 6-0 win over Wake Forest at Fetzer Field.
