Boston College Women's Soccer And Maryland Play To A 1-1 Tie

Freshman midfielder Kristen Mewis scored with seven minutes left to tie the game as Boston College and Maryland played to a 1-1 overtime match on Thursday night in a key ACC match. The Eagles are now 11-2-1 and 3-2-1 in the conference. Maryland is now 10-2-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the ACC.

Maryland scored first in the 75 minute mark on a goal by Becky Kaplan. It was the Terps second shot on goal in the game. The play was started by Sadea Ayinde and the goal was set up by Caitlin Mooney.

The game-tying goal came when Mewis ripped a shot from 30 yards out into the top corner at the 83rd minute mark of the match. It was her fifth goal of the season.

FSU Defeats Clemson 5-1

CLEMSON, S.C. - Ninth-ranked Florida State (11-2-1, 4-1-1 ACC) got back in the win column Thursday night with a 5-1 road victory over Clemson (3-11-0, 0-6-0 ACC) at historic Riggs Field. FSU's Tiffany McCarty led the offensive attack with a career-high six points on two goals and two assists, while Jessica Price tied a career-high with two goals.

The Seminoles recorded their fourth straight victory over the Tigers and third straight on Clemson's home turf. With the win, FSU extended its unbeaten streak in the series to 11 (9-0-2) in a row.

After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, Florida State erupted with four second half goals en route to a four-goal victory. The five goals were the most scored by the Seminoles in the series.

Hurricanes Fall to Duke in Road Contest

DURHAM, N.C. - The University of Miami women's soccer team (7-7-0, 2-3-0) fell to the Duke Blue Devils (5-5-4,1-2-2) by a 4-0 score, Thursday evening at Koskinen Stadium.

The Blue Devils scored twice in just over a minute in the first half. In the 20th minute, Elisabeth Redmond scored her third goal of the season on a shot that bent into the top right corner. Just one minute and 13 seconds later, Libby Jandl scored her first goal of the season after a scramble in the box.

The Hurricanes were unable to close the gap and Duke eventually scored two more times in the second half. Marybeth Kreger scored in the 49th minute, then KayAnne Gummersall added the game's final goal in the 65th minute.

Da Luz Earns 200th Career Win; No. 6 Wake Downs NC State, 2-0

RALEIGH, N.C. - Senior forward Allie Sadow scored a pair of goals to lead No. 6 Wake Forest to a 2-0 win against NC State on Thursday night at Dail Soccer Stadium.

The win was the 200th in the coaching career of head coach Tony da Luz. Da Luz's career record now stands at 200-133-22, while his record at Wake Forest is 155-92-20.

With the victory, Wake Forest improves to 11-2-1 and 3-1-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while NC State drops to 7-6-1 and 2-4-0 in league play.
