Tech stuns No. 1 North Carolina, 1-0
The Virginia Tech women's soccer team earned its biggest win in program history, defeating the No. 1-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels 1-0 at Thompson Field, where the Hokies have yet to drop a game this season. The loss marked only the eighth all time in ACC play for the Tar Heels and the 34th all time in the 31-year program history as well as their first ACC loss since Miami notched a same-score victory on Sept. 30, 2007.

Marika Gray remains as the only current Hokie to have scored on the Tar Heels, as she was the lone goal scorer in the match. The entire team put forward a relentless effort to outlast the Heels in the history-making game that propels Tech to a never before seen 4-0 in the ACC and 10-2-0 overall. The Tar Heels now drop to 10-1-1 on the season and 3-1 in ACC play.

In the 46th second of the match, senior leader Emily Jukich nearly got things started for the Hokies, as she netted a spectacular goal, bicycle kicking the ball into the top left corner of the net, but the goal was called off just seconds later due to offsides.

FSU Clips Miami 4-1
Fifth-ranked Florida State (10-1-0, 3-0-0 ACC) remained undefeated at home in 2009 thanks to a 4-1 victory over intra-state rival Miami (6-6-0, 1-2-0 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

Sporting pink jerseys to raise awareness for breast cancer and breast cancer research, the Seminoles scored three first half goals including two in the first five minutes and seven second to record their 10th straight victory over the Hurricanes. The win also moved FSU to 3-0-0 in the ACC tying the school record for the best start in league play set back in 2001.

The three-goal victory on Sunday extended FSU's home winning streak to 13 straight games, the longest streak in school history.

Boston College Downs NC State, 2-1
Freshman Victoria DiMartino scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute as the Boston College women's soccer team defeated NC State, 2-1, in an ACC match at the Newton Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon.

The victory halted a two-game losing skid by Boston College. The Eagles, who lost to No. 5 Florida State and No. 1 UNC this past week, bounced back to improved to 10-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the conference. NC State is now 7-4-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the ACC.

The Eagles went up 1-0 on Jill MacNeil's first career goal. The junior forward literally just entered the game when BC earned a corner kick. Hannah Cerrone sent the ball toward the goal which sophomore Julia Bouchelle header towards the net. The ball was blocked and kicked around the box only to land on the foot of MacNeill. She then one-timed the loose ball into the top right hand corner for a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute of play.

Feger's First Two Collegiate Goals Gives Wake Forest 3-0 Win at Clemson
Sophomore midfielder Jordan Feger scored the first two goals of her collegiate career to lead No. 9 Wake Forest to a 3-0 victory against Clemson on Sunday afternoon at Riggs Field.

The win gives the Demon Deacons their first Atlantic Coast Conference victory of the season, improving the team's league record to 1-1-1. Wake is now 9-2-1 overall on the season. Clemson falls to 3-9 and 0-4 in conference play.

Feger, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., gave the Deacs the lead with a goal late in the first half in the 41st minute. Feger tallied her second goal of the game in the 50th minute to make the score 2-0. Senior forward Kaley Fountain closed the scoring for the Demon Deacons with her seventh goal of the season in the 63rd minute.

No. 22 Terps Drop Duke, 4-0
Four different Terps scored in the University of Maryland women's soccer team's 4-0 shutout of Duke Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium.

For No. 22 Maryland this improves its overall record to 9-2-0 and marks its first conference victory of the season. The Blue Devils fall to 4-5-3 on the year and now have a 0-2-1 record in the ACC.

Freshman Danielle Hubka got the Terrapins off to a quick start in the 11th minute when she took a touch pass from sophomore Lydia Hastings and buried it into the right corner of the Duke net.
