No. 1 North Carolina Rallies By No. 6 BC
North Carolina's No. 1-ranked women's soccer team fell behind in the 55th minute at No. 6 Boston College Thursday night but rallied to beat the Eagles 2-1 on penalty kick goals by Casey Nogueira in the 74th minutes and Ali Hawkins in the 81st minute. UNC outshot the Eagles 15-8 and had an 11-1 edge in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, who returned to the team today after training with the U.S. National Team in Carson, Calif. for the past 10 days, made five saves, just one short of her career high. UNC improves to 10-0-1 on the season and 3-0 in the ACC. Carolina will travel to Blacksburg, Va. Sunday to meet Virginia Tech which is 9-2 overall and also unbeaten in the ACC at 3-0.

Blosser leads Women's Soccer Past Clemson
Freshman Kara Blosser scored twice to give NC State a 2-1 victory over Clemson in Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer action Thursday night from Dail Soccer Field.

NC State improves to 7-3-1 and 2-1 in the ACC, while Clemson falls to 3-8, 0-3 in the league.

The first half was described by Wolfpack coach Steve Springthorpe as less than impressive. And rightly so it probably was as neither team offered up much scoring opportunities in the opening 45 minutes.

No. 9 Wake Forest-Duke Play to Scoreless Tie
No. 9 Wake Forest and Duke combined for 35 shots, but neither team could find the back of the net as the Demon Deacons and Blue Devils played to a scoreless tie on Thursday night at Spry Stadium.

Each team had their share of the play for portions of the game, but neither team was able to dent the scoreboard. Duke attempted 18 shots in the contest, while Wake Forest had 17 shots recorded.
