No. 16 Women's Soccer Blanks Boston University, 2-0
The No. 16 Boston College women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Boston University Wednesday night at Newton Soccer Field in front of 651 fans. The Eagles improved to 2-0-0 overall and will travel on Friday, Sept. 4 to play at Brown University. BU dropped to 2-1-0 and will play at Loyola next.

Boston College was led offensively by freshman Victoria DiMartino, who notched her second goal of the season and junior defender Chelsea Regan, who also scored her second goal. The Eagles defense held Boston University to just seven shots, all coming in the second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Jillian Mastroianni earned her 12th career shutout as she had fives saves in the win.

DiMartino scored in the 24th minute when she chased a through ball from Kristen Mewis right outside the Terriers 18-yard box. Janie Reilly, the BU goalkeeper, came out to clear the ball but DiMartino deflected it to the right of the goal. She then ran down the loose ball and drilled it into the open goal from about 10 yards out for a 1-0 BC lead.
