GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke's first varsity eight has been named the season's first Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week after going 3-1 at the seventh annual Longhorn Invitational last weekend.

Duke's first varsity eight crew of Katie Tobin (coxswain), Michelle Lancto, Alissa Van Arnam, Virginia Kane, Emma Darling, Emily Rothfield, Lia Hart, Gwen Coleman, and Laura Fisher recorded wins over Kansas State, Miami and host Texas.

The Blue Devils won three of four races over the weekend, with their only loss against Central Florida. In the first varsity eight race of the day, Duke outpaced Kansas State with a time of 6:48.30 and later turned in a 6:45.00 to edge Texas on the following day of competition. Duke capped off the weekend with one more win, as the Blue Devils clocked a 7:02.80 to defeat league foe Miami in the final race of the Invitational.

Duke will break for a week before facing Michigan and Ohio State in the ACC/Big 10 Dual in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday, March 31.
