Boston College Rowing Competes in Beanpot on the Charles
Boston College women's rowing raced in the Beanpot on Saturday, May 2, on the Charles River in Boston, Mass. The Eagles faced strong competition against Northeast rivals Boston University, Northeastern, Harvard, Columbia, Radcliffe and MIT.

BC entered crews in the Varsity Eight, Frosh/Novice Eight, Varsity Four, and 2nd Novice Four+.

The Novice Four crew led the way for the Eagles with a first place finish in a time of 8:52.6.

Hurricanes Perform Well at Opening Day Regatta
The University of Miami Hurricanes rowing squad collected second and third place finishes Saturday, May 2 in front of more than 50,000 spectators and 500 competitors as part of the Windermere Cup/Opening Day Regatta hosted by the University of Washington in Seattle.

A near-record crowd was on hand this year at the Montlake Cut, while the Hurricanes were one of six collegiate teams, along with numerous high school, professional boaters and national crews to open up the 2009 boating season.

The `Canes took part in two races Saturday as part of the Windermere Cup and Women's Erickson Cascade Cup.
