COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Boston Cannons professional men's lacrosse team will host a Women's Pro League All-Star game, as part of a single admission double-header on Saturday, July 6 at 4:00pm (the Cannons play Baltimore at 7:00pm).

The participants in the Women's All-Star game will hold a practice on Friday, July 5 (time is TBD). The game will feature the biggest names in women's lacrosse, including event organizer and former Maryland Terrapin standout Kelly Amonte-Hiller.

"I am very excited about the Women's Pro All-Star Game," said Amonte-Hiller. "We appreciate all of the support the Cannon's are giving us to make this event special. We have put together one of the most impressive groups of players and coaches to ever participate in an exhibition game like this."

Amonte-Hiller, wife of Cannons Head Coach Scott Hiller, is one of the area's most decorated athletes. She was a four-time All-American at Maryland and twice named National Player of the Year. Amonte-Hiller was also placed No. 21 on Sports Illustrated's list of the top 50 Massachusetts' athletes of the Century.

"The teams will be determined by a draft done by the coaches of the 40 players chosen to play," said Amonte-Hiller. "I am hoping that this event will just be another step to catapult women's lacrosse to the next level."

Other notables participating in the game include Australia's Jen Adams, another former Terrapin. Adams, like Amonte-Hiller, is also a three-time NCAA Women's Lacrosse National Player of Year. The Maryland grad was ACC player of the year twice and is the NCAA Women's Lacrosse all-time points leader. Other Terps involved in the event include Tori Wellington and head coach Cindy Timchal.

"We are thrilled to be hosting this event," said David Gross, Cannons General Manager. "Women's lacrosse is growing rapidly in New England, and this showcase event will give fans in the area the opportunity to see the best Women's Lacrosse players in the world go head-to-head."
