The Duke Unviersity women's lacrosse team earned IWLCA Merit Squad honors after leading Division I with a 3.46 team GPA. Bucknell had 10 student-athletes named to the 2004 IWLCA Honor Roll, helping them earn Merit Squad status along with Connecticut, who also earned Merit Squad status in 2003. Twenty-two other institutions earned Academic Squad status, signifying a collective team GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Duquesne's Kristina Rohall, the IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, was one of 123 student-athletes representing 47 different institutions. Duke's Kristy Dirks, Cheryl Lynn Horton, Lauren Kickham and Lindsay Carter Piechnik were each on the IWLCA Honor Roll.
