Gallagher and Foster Named Brine IWLCA/USL Division I All-Americas
May 20, 2002 Duke University women's lacrosse players, Lauren Gallagher (West Chester, Pa.) and Kristen Foster (Ellicott City, Md.) received 2002 Brine IWLCA/USL Division I All-America honors on Monday, May 20. Gallagher, a junior midfielder, earned second team accolades, while Foster was a third team selection. Gallagher helped lead the Blue Devils to a 10-8 season, including a fourth consecutive trip to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, pacing the team in goals (38), assists (11), points (49) and shooting percentage (.494). The junior midfielder is a two-time All-ACC and All-South Region selection and already ranks among the Duke career leaders in goals (103 - 4th), assists (39 - 3rd) and points (142 - 3rd). Last season, Gallagher earned second team IWLCA All-America and first team USLacrosse All-America honors. Foster concluded her Duke career as the most decorated goalkeeper in school history. In 54 career games, she posted 422 saves and a .541 save percentage. In 2002, Foster tallied 159 saves and established a new school record with a .609 save percentage in an 11-3 win over Johns Hopkins. Foster is a two-time All-ACC selection, South Region All-America and Tewaaranton Trophy nominee. Last season, she was an IWLCA and USLacrosse first team All-America.
