GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Dana Dobbie picks up this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honor for the period ending on Sunday, April 20. Dobbie netted three goals in both of the third-ranked Terrapins' wins last week, including a 14-7 victory over ninth-ranked Georgetown and Virginia Tech. The senior dominated the field against Georgetown, scoring three goals and adding three ground balls and nine draw controls, which equaled the entire Hoya team. Dobbie tallied 10 more draw controls against the Hokies as the Terps held a 20-5 advantage in draws. In addition to Dobbie's three goals against the Hoyas, the midfielder tallied another hat trick against Virginia Tech, tying the team's scoring lead in the two games, while her 19 draws were more than the Hoyas and Hokies had combined (14). Dobbie, who leads the nation in draw controls, has picked up eight or more in five of the last six games and has secured at least 10 three times this year. Maryland locked in the number one seed in the upcoming ACC three-day event, which will take place on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., after the third-ranked Terrapins defeated Virginia Tech Saturday afternoon. Maryland, which owns a 4-1 league mark and earned a first-round bye, will take on the winner of No. 5 seed North Carolina and No. 4 seed Boston College on Friday, April 25 at 3 p.m. ET in semifinal action of the annual ACC Championship.
