GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Allie Buote was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, April 13. Buote was credited with 10 saves en route to securing a 10-8 victory for the third-ranked Terrapins over league opponent and ninth-ranked North Carolina on April 12 at Fetzer Field.
Three of Buote's 10 saves were on free position shots in the two-goal victory, a first at North Carolina since 2005. The Tar Heels were averaging 11 goals per game heading into the conference contest.
The goalkeeper from Annapolis, Md., has stopped 10 or more shots in four of her last five outings.
Maryland (12-1, 3-1 ACC) returns home on Wednesday night when it hosts No. 6 Georgetown at 8:00 p.m. ET at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. The game will be televised nationally by the CBS College Sports Network.
