Maryland's Aust and North Carolina's Serpe Claim ACC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Maryland junior attacker Alex Aust and North Carolina sophomore defender Sloane Serpe have earned Atlantic Coast Conference women’s lacrosse weekly awards. Aust was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Serpe was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Aust, of Sterling, Va., played an integral role in No. 3 Maryland’s two wins on the week. Aust tallied 10 assists over two games, including a school record six assists at No. 8 Penn. Aust also scored three goals against the Quakers. Aust ranks third in goals (24) and second in points (47) for Maryland.
Serpe, of North Caldwell, N.J., played a big role in No. 5 North Carolina’s 4-2 win over No. 7 Duke on Friday. Serpe marked the Blue Devils leading scorer and held her scoreless and without a shot on the night. Serpe caused three turnovers and gathered two ground balls against Duke. Two days later against Virginia Tech, Serpe had a draw control and a caused turnover in the Tar Heels’ 15-4 win.
North Carolina will host Maryland at 4pm on Saturday and will be broadcast on ESPN3.
