GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Duke sophomore attacker Kerrin Maurer and sophomore midfielder Gabby Moise have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on Monday, Feb 11.
Duke's points and assists leader last season, Maurer totaled a team-high 11 points in the first weekend of action in the 2013 season. The Setauket, N.Y., native tallied a hat trick and tied a program single-game record with five assists in a 17-9 win over conference foe Virginia Tech. In a 23-0 win over Presbyterian, Maurer added two goals and one assist. Maurer posted a .556 shooting percentage in the two games.
After entering the starting lineup late last season as a freshman, Moise led the Blue Devil defense in the first weekend with a team-high five caused turnovers. The native of Princeton, N.J., had four caused turnovers and two ground balls in the win over Virginia Tech, and helped the Duke defense preserve just the second shutout in program history against Presbyterian.
