No. 1 Terps Trounce Tribe, 14-4

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomore Allison Comito (Glen Head, N.Y.) and junior Christie Jenkins (Media, Pa.) each recorded a hat trick to lead the top-ranked Terrapins (14-0) to a 14-4 win against the 15th-ranked William & Mary Tribe (6-9) Wednesday afternoon at Ludwig Field.

Comito and Jenkins were two of four goal scorers to post multiple goals. Sophomore Jen Adams (Brighton, Australia) and Quinn Carney (Flemington, N.J.) each added two goals apiece. It marked Adams' 27th consecutive game, and Carney's 21st consecutive game, that they have scored at least one point.

Maryland came out firing, opening up a 7-0 lead before the Tribe managed to get on the board at the 19:07 mark. Comito put the Terps ahead early as she scored unassisted at the 1:42 mark while Jenkins would ink two of her three goals in the first half.

Comito scored two of her three goals in the second half as she would connect off of a Christie Jenkins assisted ball at the 33:40 mark, and followed that with a goal off of an Adams' assist at the 36:31 mark.

The Tribe was led by senior Dani Vissers (Ellicott City, Md.) who totaled all four goals. Junior Amy Pugno (Upper Montclair, N.J.) added an assist. Maryland junior goalkeeper Alex Kahoe (Villanova, Pa.) charted 13 saves in 60 minutes while Tribe goalkeeper Jacque Orsi had nine saves and allowed 13 goals. Abby Pheiffer recorded two saves and allowed one goal for the Tribe, as well.
