Tar Heels Down Stanford, 13-10, To Close Regular Season
Sixth-ranked North Carolina got five goals and an assist from Kristen Taylor and defeated No. 15 Stanford, 13-10, on Sunday afternoon at Fetzer Field. The game marked the final regular season home game for Tar Heel seniors Katie Brooks, Jocelyn Brault, Meghan Clarke, Amber Falcone, Chelsea Parks, Kelly Taylor and Caitlyn Young.

In addition to Kristen Taylor's scoring output, Carolina got two goals and an assist from Jenn Russell and a goal and an assist from Megan Bosica. Laura Zimmerman, Corey Donohoe, Kelly Taylor, Parks and Brooks scored single goals for UNC and Becky Lynch added an assist.

Stanford got two goals and an assist from Lauren Schmidt and two goals each from Karen Nesbitt, Jamie Nesbitt and Sarah Flynn. Leslie Foard and Amanda Schwab had single goals for the Cardinal. 

Duke Wins Big Over Davidson
The Duke women’s lacrosse team came out firing on Sunday afternoon, defeating Davidson 17-5 at Stephen B. Smith Field to move to 11-4 on the season. Christie Kaestner led all scorers with four goals, a career-high for the sophomore.

Kaestner and junior Lindsay Gilbride got the Blue Devils off to a rolling start, each notching hat tricks in the first eight minutes of play as Duke established control early. With the visitors out to a 6-0 lead, Davidson called a timeout but Duke put two more on the board to go up 8-0 at the 17:27 mark, on the first of two on the afternoon for sophomore Morgan Miller.

The Wildcats were held off the scoreboard until 13:01 remained in the first half, a free-position score for Haley Cook. 

Valiant Effort Falls Short vs. No. 1 Northwestern
The No. 10 Virginia women’s lacrosse team battled hard against the top-ranked team in the nation on Sunday afternoon before falling to Northwestern, 11-10, in the regular-season finale for the Cavaliers. The win keeps the Wildcats unbeaten this season, at 15-0, while Virginia moves to 10-6 on the year.

Senior All-American Blair Weymouth led the attack with a game-high four goals and five draw controls, while junior Kaitlin Duff had three, redshirt junior Whitaker Hagerman added two and senior Ashley McCulloch had one. Senior Jenny Hauser, junior Brittany Kalkstein and Duff each added an assist.

For Northwestern, Katrina Dowd led the way with three goals, while Hannah Nielsen scored two goals to go with three assists.
