Duke Pummels Virginia Tech, 21-3 The Blue Devils improved to 7-2, and 1-1 in ACC play, while Virginia Tech drops to 4-5 (1-2). Duke was able to rebound from last Saturday's tough 12-11 loss at Georgetown, and remains a perfect 5-0 at home this season. The Blue Devils saw scoring come from all places, with 13 different players finding the stat sheet on the day. No. 2 Terps Women's Lacrosse Inches Past No. 15 Dartmouth, 13-12 Both teams exchanged blows for the first six minutes of the rain-soaked contest before Maryland was finally able to connect as Caitlyn McFadden found the back of the net off an assist from Sarah Mollison. It would take nearly another five minutes until there was any additional action on the scoreboard when Dartmouth's Sarah Parks tied the game at 19:42. Parks would score again at 18:13 before Maryland went on a 3-0 run with goals coming from free position opportunities from Laura Merrifield and Brandi Jones and another from Merrifield at 8:33. Dartmouth stopped the run with a score from Dana Brisbane at 5:36. Mollison countered with her first goal of the game at 4:34 before a yellow card to McFadden forced the Terps to go a player down as Kat Collins cut the Maryland lead to one heading into the half. No. 9 Tar Heels Down Old Dominion, 16-9 Donohoe started her day early, scoring on a free-position shot in the second minute. Jenn Russell followed with another free-position goal 36 seconds later to give the Tar Heels an early 2-0 lead. Old Dominion answered quickly with two goals in less than 30 seconds by Kelly Kimener and Ashley Kellogg to tie it at two apiece. Kellogg's goal was assisted by Kimener who found Kellogg wide open downfield after she was awarded the draw control on a foul. Carolina's offensive onslaught then took over, scoring eight straight to put the game out of reach for the Monarchs (3-1). Chelsea Parks started the rally with an unassisted goal, while Kristen Taylor, Megan Bosica, Kaitlyn Messinger, Russell, and Donohoe all got in on the action as well. Kimener stopped the streak at eight with two minutes left in the half, but Meghan Clarke answered 14 seconds later on an assist by Becky Lynch to bring the first half score to 11-3. Boston College Women's Lacrosse Defeats Holy Cross 15-7 The win gives the Eagles a 6-1 non-conference record and a win heading into their weekend ACC match-up with Maryland. Sophomore Kristin Igoe put the Eagles up 1-0 to start the game, but the fired off two quick goals to take control of the board. Senior Maura Mahoney tied the game at two before Holy Cross added a third goal to regain the lead. Junior Lauren Costello put the Eagles back on top with a three goal run and Senior Lauren Fitzpatrick added a final goal for the maroon and gold to give them a 6-5 lead heading into the break.
