Bosica's Five Goals Lead Tar Heels Past Brown, 12-8

The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team, ranked No. 6 in this week's IWLCA coaches poll and Inside Lacrosse media poll, got five goals from sophomore Megan Bosica and overcame a sloppy first half to beat unranked Brown, 12-8, on Thursday evening at Fetzer Field. Four of Bosica's goals came in the second half. With the win, Carolina improved to 4-0 this season. Brown fell to 1-1.

The Tar Heels were led by Bosica's five goals. Corey Donohoe had two goals and an assist, while Julia Ryan also scored twice. Kristen Taylor, Chelsea Parks and Kristen Carr each scored once for UNC.

For Brown, Jesse Nunn scored three goals while Lauren Vitkus and Jadie DeTolla had two apiece. Kelly Robinson scored once for the Bears.

The Bears led, 6-4, at halftime, handing the Tar Heels their first halftime deficit of the season. Nunn scored three first-half goals . After the Tar Heels led early, 2-0, Brown scored three consecutive goals to take a 3-2 lead. Kristen Taylor and Bosica scored consecutive goals to make it 4-3 UNC before the Bears closed the first period with three straight goals for their 6-4 lead at the break.
