50th Anniversary Teams Announcement Schedule
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Women's Golf Team was announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The 50-member team was voted on by the six league institutions that sponsor the sport as decided by the league's 50th Anniversary Committee.
Duke led all league schools with 23 members on the Golden Anniversary team while North Carolina was second with 12 honorees. Wake Forest had 10 players selected, followed by Florida State with three and NC State with two.
The ACC's 50th Anniversary Women's Golf team, in alphabetical order, is as follows:
Alicia Allison, Duke (1994-1998)
1996-97 All-ACC selection ... owns 19 career top-10 finishes which ranks seventh all-time at Duke.
Kalen Anderson, Duke (1997-2001)
Member of Duke's 1999 NCAA Championship squad ... 1999-00 All-America selection...three-time Academic All-America and All-ACC selection ... owns 16 top-10 finishes all-time at Duke ... currently playing on the Future's tour.
Donna Andrews, North Carolina (1986-1989)
Lady Paladin Invitational Champion in 1988 ... second-team All-American in 1989 ... finished in third place at the 1989 NCAA Tournament, the low Tar Heel for the event.
Alexandra Armas, Wake Forest (1994-1998)
Became only the second player to be named All-American (second team) her freshman year ... a member of the 1995 ACC Championship team ... helped the Deacons earn their top finish at the NCAA Championships (third) ... placed ninth individually at the 1995 NCAA Championships ... earned honorable mention All-America honors as a senior in 1998 after recording six top-10 finishes.
Jean Bartholomew, Duke (1985-1989)
