FARGO, N.D. -- Duke rising sophomore Virada Nirapathpongporn defeated Lorena Ochoa 1UP to take home the Women's Trans Amateur Championship on Saturday. The championship was played at the par-72, 6,248-yard Fargo Country Club, in Fargo, N.D.

Nirapathpongporn, a native of Bangkok, Thailand, was a first-team All-America for the Blue Devils last season. Another Duke sophomore, Leigh Anne Hardin, also advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to Martha Leach (3 to 1).
