NORTH PLAINS, OR. - Former Duke standout Candy Hannemann and current Blue Devil Liz Janangelo led the Duke contingent at the 58th U.S. Women's Open on Saturday in the third round at the Par 71, 6,550-yard Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.

Hannemann continued her stellar play and currently sits in 16th place with a four-over-par total of 217 after three days of action. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil product has recorded rounds of 75-69-73 on the week. Hannemann is a member of the SBC Futures Tour and ranks ninth on the money list with $20,277 through 11 tournaments.

Janangelo, a rising sophomore from West Hartford, Conn., posted her second straight 73 on Saturday and is tied 31st overall with a total of 221, which is eight-over-par. A 2003 NGCA first team All-America selection, Janangelo has collected rounds of 75-73-73 over the first three days. Janangelo is the second-highest amateur in the field behind Aree Song at two-under-par.

The 2002 LPGA Rolex Rookie of the Year, Beth Bauer continued her consistent play with a 76 on Saturday and is tied 48th with a total of 224. Over the first three days, Bauer has recorded rounds of 75-73-76. Last year, Bauer finished tied 14th at the U.S. Women's Open.

After carding a three-under-par round of 68 on Friday, rising senior Leigh Anne Hardin struggled on Saturday with an 86. A Martinsville, Ind., native, Hardin now is tied 58th with a total of 229 (75-76-86).

Hilary Lunke leads the overall tournament with a five-under-par total of five-under-par (208). Only six golfers hold under par totals heading in to the final day.
