SOUTH HADLEY, MASS.-The second day of the 2004 U.S. Women's Open was not kind to the four golfers from Duke University as all four missed the cut on Friday at the 6,473-yard, Par 71 Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.

Jean Bartholomew missed the cut by one stroke, after posting rounds of 73, 75. She was at six-over-par (148) for the tournament.

Playing in her first U.S. Open as a professional, Virada Nirapathpongporn missed the cut by three strokes finishing at tied for 92nd (eight-over-par, 150). A Bangkok, Thailand product, Nirapathpongporn had a 78 on Friday after posting a 72 on day one.

Beth Bauer finished tied for 124 after struggling on day two with an 82. She completed her tournament with a two-day total of 154, which was 12-over-par. Duke rising senior Niloufar Aazam-Zanganeh also finished tied for 124, after carding a 78 on Friday. Aazam-Zanganeh had a 77 on day one in her first appearance in the U.S. Open.
