Wake Forest sophomore Mandy Goins fired a 2-under par 70 and finished in third place Monday at the U.S. Women's Amateur Sectional Qualifying Tournament in Douglasville, GA.

Goins' third-place finish qualifies her for the U.S. Women's Amateur, scheduled for August 1-7 at Ansley Golf Club in Roswell, GA.

Goins was one of nine players to earn an entry into the U.S. Amateur via the Douglasville sectional. Sixty-nine golfers competed for those nine spots at Chapel Hills Golf Club, a par 72, 6,296-yard layout.

Candace Schepperle and Laura Coble each shot 69 to finish one stroke ahead of Goins.
