Bluefield, VA - Virginia sophomore women's golfer Jennie Arseneault was eliminated in the quarterfinals of match play Friday at the Women's Western Golf Association's 106th National Amateur Championship.

Emily Hoeper defeated Arseneault 3 and 2 to move on to Saturday's semifinals.

Arseneault advanced to match play after finishing fourth overall in the stroke play portion of the tournament.

Arseneault, from Grinnell, Iowa, will compete at the 2006 Women's U.S. Open June 29 to July 2 at the Newport Country Club in Newport, R.I.
