Brittany Lang is tied for third after day one at the WAPL

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - Duke University rising sophomore and the reigning National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) National Rookie of the Year, Brittany Lang, carded a first round 70 on Tuesday and is tied for third at the Women's Amateur Public Links (WAPL) in Williamsburg, Va.

Lang, a native of McKinney, Texas, carded five birdies on the day at the Par 72, 6,157-yard Golden Horseshoe Golf Club and is tied with seven other golfers after day one. The first team All-America selection will tee off on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the second and final round of stroke play before match play begins.

The lowest 64 golfers will advance to match play.

Last summer, Lang posted victories at the North and South Women's Amateur and the Women's Western Amateur Championship in back-to-back weeks.
