MORGANTOWN, N.C. - Wake Forest senior and defending champion Maggie Simons finished in a tie for fourth place at the 57th North Carolina Women's Amateur Championship at Mimosa Hills Country Club Thursday.

Simons, who was the top Demon Deacon at the NCAA Championships in May, finished the 54-hole event 3-over par (219) after firing a 1-under par final round of 71. Simons, who shot back-to-back rounds of 74 on Tuesday and Wednesday, finished nine shots back.

Adrienne Millican shot 72-68-70 over three rounds to win the event by three shots and finish 6-under par -- the lowest winning score in the 57 years of the tournament.
