Wilmington, NC - For the second consecutive day Virginia senior golfer Leah Wigger posted a 3-under 70 at the 95th Women's Eastern Golf Association Amateur Championship. Wigger's heads into Thursdays' final round with a nine shot lead at 6-under 140.

UVa teammate Sally Shonk carded a 3-over 76 during the second round and moved up to ninth-place at 10-over 156. Cavalier sophomore Kristen Simpson is tied for 15th at 160. She has carded rounds of 79 and 81.

The Women's Eastern Golf Association Amateur Championship is a 54-hole tournament taking place at Gulph Mills Golf Club in King of Prussia, Pa.

The Championship is open to female amateur golfers, with a certified handicap index of 11.5 or less and who belong to a WEGA Member Club (or has school affiliation. The field will be limited to the 80 applicants with the lowest handicap index.
