Four ACC Squads Selected to Women's Golf East Regional

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Top-ranked Duke leads four ACC squads selected to the 1999 NCAA Women's Golf East Regional Championship on Tuesday. The ACC Champion Blue Devils are joined by Florida State, North Carolina and Wake Forest.

The regional tournament will be held May 6-8 at The University Club in Blythwood, S.C., with the University of South Carolina serving as the host school. The 5,996-yard, par-72 course is four years old and serves as home to the Lady Gamecock men's and women's golf teams.

The East Regional is comprised of 19 teams from the following three districts: South (8), Midwest (4), and Mid-Atlantic (7).

In addition, seven players from teams not selected to the regional received individual bids. The top eight teams and two individuals not from those squads will advance to the NCAA Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on May 19-22.

TEAMS (19): Georgia, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Furman, Mississippi, Florida State, South Florida, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State, Duke, Tennessee, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Campbell, Memphis, Penn State.

INDIVIDUALS (7): Pam Bluff, Tulane; Pia Josefsson, Mississippi St.; Lina Berg, Central Florida; Sarah Johnston, Alabama; Emily Gilley, Northwestern; Lotta Johnson, UNC Greensboro; Mallory Crosland, Vanderbilt.
