CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Duke University, the top-ranked team in the country, maintained its lead at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational by shooting a seven-under-par 281 on Saturday. Duke owns a five-under 571 total and leads second-place South Carolina by 32 strokes. North Carolina is in third place at 604, two strokes behind the Gamecocks. South Florida is fourth at 610 while UNC-Greensboro is fifth at 611.

Duke's Candy Hannemann took sole possession of first place by shooting a five-under 67 on Saturday. Hannemann's 139 total puts her four strokes ahead of Tennessee's Jessica Lindbergh and South Florida's Kelly Lagedrost. Duke's Jenny Chuasiriporn, the defending champion, and Filippa Hansson (playing as an individual) are tied for fourth place with a par 144 total.

Marcy Newton and Shelley McKevitt lead the Tar Heels and are tied for 10th place with a five-over 149 total. Heather Angell dropped to a tie for 23rd place after shooting a five-over 78 in the second round. Kim Smith is in a tie for 33rd place after posting an 80 on Saturday. Cuyler Buckles carded a 76 and is tied for 45th.

The 54-hole event continues through Sunday and is being played at the Chapel Hill Country Club, a par 72, 6,075-yard layout. Tee times begin at 8:00 a.m. off both the #1 and #10 tees.

On Sunday, North Carolina, Duke and South Carolina will tee off the #1 tee between 9:20 a.m. and 9:52 a.m. The final pairing of the day off the #1 tee will feature Duke's Candy Hannemann, North Carolina's Marcy Newton and South Carolina's Emma Lofgren.
