Duke Women Win Ninth Consecutive ACC Golf Championship

CLEMMONS, N.C. - With a 54-hole total of 838, Duke captured its ninth consecutive ACC title at the 2004 ACC Championship by finishing 14-under par. The three-day event was held at the par 71, 6348-yard course at Salem Glen Golf and Country Club.
Duke, who won their 12th ACC Championship in the tournament's 16 year history, defeated second place Wake Forest (857) by 19 strokes. North Carolina was third at 861, followed by NC State (884) and Florida State in fifth at 887. Maryland finished in sixth with 904 strokes while Virginia was seventh with 915 strokes.
Duke freshman Brittany Lang (67-69-68 = 204) captured medalist honors by two shots over Meaghan Francella (66-69-71= 206) of North Carolina. Finishing third was Ashley Prange (69-71-67 = 207) of North Carolina. The low round of the final day belonged to Liz Janangelo, who shot a 5-under 66.
