Carolina Women's Golf Team Finishes Ninth At UCF Challenge Carolina's Sydney Crane and Catherine O'Donnell were the top Tar Heels, firing 219 totals and tying for 28th place. Crane, a senior from Jamestown, N.C., carded a 76 in the final round while O'Donnell, a freshman from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., shot 75. Senior Lauren Hunt fired the Tar Heels' low round of the day, a two-under-par 70. The Little River, S.C., native posted a 227 total and finished tied for 61st. Allie White, a freshman from Lancaster, Ohio, carded a one-over 73 on Tuesday for a 221 total and tied for 43rd place while sophomore Kate Thomas, from Murwillumbah, Australia, struggled with an 83 in the final round to finish with a 235 total to tie for 79th place. UCLA captured the team title after firing a seven-under-par 281. The Bruins finished with a 14-under 850 total, seven strokes ahead of runner-up Arizona State, the second-round leader, which tallied an 857 total after posting a one-over 289 on Tuesday. Oklahoma State finished third at three-under 861 while Southern California was fourth at 872 and Auburn finished in fifth place with an 874 total. Lee Places Third Individually At UCF Challenge Lee, a product of Henderson, Nev., fired under-par rounds of 71, 68 and 71 marking the first time in her four-year career she has posted three straight under-par rounds. On Tuesday, Lee registered three birdies over her first six holes to start out at three-under-par and made the turn at two-under-par, 34. The Blue Devils started their round on hole No. 10 so on Lee's back nine, which were holes one through nine she finished with a one-over-par, 37. Lee posted five birdies on the day and finished the tournament with a total of 14 birdies. Her finish of third was a season-best and it was her best finish since her sophomore year when she finished third on two different occasions. Taking home the individual title was Kono as she notched a six-under-par, 66, on Tuesday in the final round to win by one stroke over Florida's Jessica Yadloczky (209). Seminole Women's Golf Team Completes Play At UCF Challenge UCLA won the team title as the Bruins roared from behind to defeat Arizona State by seven strokes. The Bruins trailed by one stroke after the first two rounds and outshot the Sun Devils by eight strokes in the final round to gain the team win. Stephanie Kono of UCLA won the individual title as she carded a six-under par score of 66 in the final round to take a one stroke victory over Jessica Yadloczky of Florida who had held the individual lead for the first two rounds of the event. Westrup played well in the first and third rounds of the event as she carded one-under par scores of 71 over the first 18 and third 18 holes of the event. She shot a four-over par 75 in the second round which effectively took her out of a chance to finish in the top 10 of the individual standings.
