Angie North (Houston, Texas) continued to add to her accolades at Duke University, earned 2001 second team All-America honors. The senior back is also a two-time South Region All-American and a 2000 NFHCA Academic All-America.

North, a first team all-region pick in 2001, anchored the Blue Devil defense, while also contributing two goals and two assists. She finished her career ranked eighth in the Duke record books with 19 assists. North made the most of her two goals this season, scoring the game-winner versus Villanova and forcing overtime with a late goal against Virginia in the final regular season contest of the year.

The Blue Devils finished the year 9-9 overall and ranked 17th in the NFHCA poll. All nine of the team's losses were to ranked opponents with Duke falling by one goal in six contests.
