![]() ACC Field Hockey Lands 16 on Longstreth/NFHCA All-American Teams Nov. 19, 2007 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey teams placed 16 athletes on the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-American squads, announced Monday by the NFHCA. Five of the league's schools were represented on the first-, second-, and third-teams, including North Carolina, Maryland and Duke, which had four players amongst the 48-athlete group. In all, eight field hockey athletes from the league's six member institutions were named first-team All-Americans. Maryland, which ended the season ranked third in the nation, led the league with three first-team honorees, including ACC Offensive Player of the Year Katie O'Donnell. North Carolina, the 2007 national champion, placed two on the first-team, including league Defensive Player of the Year Rachel Dawson, while Duke, Wake Forest and Boston College each had one named a first-team All-American. ACC teams placed five on the second-team squad, including two Duke and two UNC players, and three on the third-team.
