Once again, the road to the NCAA Field Hockey Championship runs through the Atlantic Coast Conference. For the fourth consecutive season, five teams have received bids to the tournament. ACC Champion Maryland is the No. 1 overall seed and will open the tournament up at home on Saturday against Albany. The ACC runner-up, Wake Forest, took the No. 2 seed and will host American on Saturday.

Defending National Champion North Carolina was sent to East Lansing, Mich. to face Michigan State in the first round. Virginia will take on CAA Champion James Madison in Winston-Salem, N.C. Duke received a ticket to the championship and will travel to College Park, Md. facing Connecticut in the first round.

In 76 total appearances over the last 27 years, ACC teams have are a combined 117-63, claiming 13 NCAA titles. Over the last nine years, an ACC team has been in the championship game every year. League teams Maryland, Wake Forest and more recently North Carolina have won the title for the last six years. The five ACC teams in the tournament are a combined 40-18 in the first round of the NCAA Field Hockey Championship. Maryland is 12-2 while Wake Forest is a perfect 10-0.

The NCAA Field Hockey Championship faces off on Saturday, November 15. Game times for each match will be confirmed later by the host institutions.
