GREENSBORO, N.C. - Susie Rowe, a senior from London, England has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week. This is Rowe's second ACC Player of the Week selection of 2008.

Rowe was impressive in Maryland's 7-0 win over North Carolina, scoring two goals and an assist in the contest. Her first came in the 28th minute, scoring on a penalty shot. After the intermission in the 43rd minute, Rowe fed Nicole Muracco's shot into the goal to extend the Terrapin advantage to 4-0. Ten minutes later, Rowe scored her 20th goal of the season off a penalty corner to move the advantage to five. In the 61st minute, Rowe tallied her sixth point of the match by feeding a penalty corner back to Katie O'Donnell to extend the lead to 6-0.

On defense, Rowe was stellar, as she anchored the Terrapin defense that held North Carolina's eighth ranked scoring offense off the board for only the second time this season. The Tar Heels were held to one shot in the first half and five in the second period. It was Maryland's seventh clean sheet this season and third in a row.

The No. 1-ranked Terrapins have locked-up the top seed at this year's ACC Championship and will close the regular-season on Thursday night at home against Virginia Commonwealth. The Rams will visit College Park starting at 7 p.m.
