Nine Student-Athletes to Represent ACC in Division I Field Hockey Senior All-Star Game

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nine Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey student-athletes have been selected to represent the league at the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior All-Star Game on Saturday, November 21 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. The game, slated for 5:30 p.m., will be sandwiched by the NCAA field hockey semifinals on Friday, November 20 and championship game on Sunday, November 22, also hosted by Wake Forest. Selections from ACC institutions include Boston College forward Chelsey Feole, Duke defender Lauren Miller and forward Amie Survilla, North Carolina defender Melanie Brill and forward Danielle Forword, Virginia defender Lauren Elstein and midfielder/forward Traci Ragukas, and Wake Forest midfielder/defender Aileen Davis and midfielder/forward Raisa Schiller. The ACC leads all conferences with nine selections on the 38-person roster. The ACC is followed by the Colonial Athletic Association and Big Ten Conference with seven picks apiece. Three selections each were chosen from the Atlantic 10, Big East, and American East conferences. Both the Ivy and Patriot leagues had two picks, while the Northeast Conference and North Pacific Field Hockey Conference each had one. In addition to the All-Star Game, the U.S. Women’s National Team and its staff will be travelling to Winston-Salem for a scrimmage against the Division I Senior All-Stars. A total of 12 players on the national team’s roster played their college field hockey at ACC institutions, including former Demon Deacons Kelly Doton, Michelle Kasold, and Claire Laubach, who will make a much anticipated return to Winston-Salem. Maryland junior forward Katie O’Donnell and North Carolina junior midfielder Katelyn Falgowski will also compete as members of the U.S. National Team.
