GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke junior Marian Dickinson has been honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for her role in two upset victories over ranked opponents last week.
A midfielder from Alberta, Canada, Dickinson started both games for the Blue Devils on the road this weekend against No. 10 Boston College and No. 14 Boston University. At BC on Friday night, Dickinson scored the final two goals in her team's 3-2 win. Against the Terriers on Sunday, she again tallied two scores, the first to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead at the half and a second for the win in overtime.
For the season, Dickinson has six goals and six assists for a total of 18 points. She currently leads Duke in all three statistical categories.
This Saturday the Blue Devils will have one of their toughest tests of the season when they host the second-ranked Maryland Terrapins. A win could vault Duke into third-place in the ACC.
