CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Junior goalkeeper Nicole Frey has earned Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors in field hockey after recording her fourth shutout of the season last Saturday against Duke. In the 2-0 win over the Blue Devils, she recorded six saves and now has a total of 37.

Frey, who is from Virginia Beach, Va., has given up just six goals in the Tar Heels' first seven games and has a goals against average of 0.86. She is in her first year as a starter and has played all 70 minutes of every game.

This Wednesday, Carolina (6-1) will again take on Duke (5-3), this time in Durham. Game time is 7 p.m.
