GREENSBORO, N.C. - Illse Davids, a junior from Plumstead, South Africa, has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week. A midfielder for the No. 5 ranked Tar Heels, Davids earns her first career ACC Player of the Week honor.

Davids played a role in five of the Tar Heels' seven goals over the weekend, as the team earned shutout wins over Penn State and West Chester at the Vonnie Gros Classic. On Saturday against the No. 11 Nittany Lions, Davids assisted on the second goal of the day and scored the third as UNC won 4-0. Against host West Chester on Sunday, Davids assisted on the gamewinning goal, scored on a penalty stroke, then picked up another assist on the final goal in a 3-0 win.

Davids and the Tar Heels will host rival Old Dominion on Friday before welcoming Radford to Chapel Hill for a Sunday matinee.
