Five Former Deacs Named to ACC 50th Anniversary Field Hockey Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Field Hockey Team was announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The 53-member team was voted on by the five league institutions that sponsor the sport as decided by the leagueˇs 50th Anniversary Committee.

Wake Forestˇs representatives on the prestigious team include Jemima Cameron, Jenny Everett, Christen Horsey, Amy Marchell, and Meaghan Nitka.

North Carolina led all league schools with 20 members on the Golden Anniversary team while Maryland was second with 16 honorees. Virginia had eight players selected, followed by Wake Forest with five and Duke with four.

Ranks first in Wake Forest history and sixth in ACC history with 186 career points ... first in WFU history and fifth in ACC history with 76 career goals ... second in WFU history with 34 career assists ... holds the WFU single season records in points (62 in 1999), goals (27 in 1999) and assists (20 in 2000) ... first-team All-American in 1999 and 2000 ... All-ACC in 1999 and 2000.
