COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Many college students use their summers to relax and wind down after a long school year. But that is hardly the case this summer for the field hockey squad's Carli Harris (Westminster, Md.).

A defensive back on the three-time consecutive ACC championship squad, Harris is coming off her most successful season to date. As a sophomore, she played in 12 games, contributing in the midfield and also as the team's kicking-back. In that position as the Terps' roving goalkeeper, Harris even recorded a save in Maryland's 4-0 victory at Virginia Commonwealth.

Feature writer Miriam Wolff of the College Park Gazette recently profiled Harris' in the midst of her numerous summer activities, including a Spanish class, preseason workouts and an internship in Maryland's Athletics Media Relations office.
