Jessie Coleman was named to the USA National Squad

University of Virginia alum Jessica Coleman was named to the USA National Field Hockey Team and will represent America on a tour in Japan in March of 2003. A two-time All-American while at Virginia, Coleman was first named to a national team in 1997 as a member of the USA Under-18 team. She was named to the Under-19 team and the Under-20 in the next two years. In 1999 she was also named to the Senior Reserve Team. Coleman was named an alternate to the National Squad in 2000 as well as a member of the Under-21 team.

In 2001 Coleman was named to the USA National team as well as the Under-21 team.

While at Virginia, Coleman scored 58 goals and added 17 assists, which ranked her sixth all-time at Virginia for scoring (133p). Coleman led the team in scoring in each of her final three seasons, including 1999 in which she had a career-high 54 points, the fourth-highest single-season total in school history.
