The Duke University field hockey team placed seven players on the 2001 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad. Angie North (Houston, Texas) and Liz Bateman (Berwyn, Pa.) became the first three-time Academic All-Americas in field hockey, while Chrissy Ashley (Plains, Pa.), Jessica Fluck (Mohnton, Pa.) and Erica Perrier (St. Lambert, Quebec) received the honor for the second time. Kim Gogola (White House Station, N.Y.) and Emily Sinkhorn (Dublin, Ohio) were named to the academic squad for the first time.
