GREENSBORO, N.C. - Headed by Maryland's Susie Rowe, eight All-Conference honorees and nine All-Americans secured spots on the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Field Hockey Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Rowe, the 2008 Honda Award winner who led Maryland to its sixth NCAA title and the seventh consecutive National Title for the ACC, was named the ACC Field Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year. The Terrapin senior led the league with 28 goals and 74 points on the season. Rowe is a native of Catford, England, majoring in Marketing and Business Management. She has also spent four semesters on the Deans List.
Boston College and Maryland led the league with seven selections to the30-member squad, followed by Duke with six selections. North Carolina received four honors while Virginia and Wake Forest tallied three members.
