COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Maryland field hockey players Katie Kauffman-Beach, Dina Rizzo and Keli Smith have been selected to represent the United States at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Auckland, New Zealand, in March. Current assistant coach Andrew Griffiths will also be traveling with the Stars & Stripes squad as an assistant coach.

The U.S. National Team is coming off of a sweep of Canada and Ireland where the U.S. played a series of matches against both countries in Stanford, Calif. At the conclusion of the games, head coach Beth Anders selected the 18-player roster which includes the three former Terps. Kauffman-Beach was a member of the 2000 Olympic Qualifier team, while Rizzo and Smith were both members of the Pan American games squad.

Griffiths has been an assistant coach to Maryland head coach Missy Meharg for the last three seasons, most recently helping the Terps reach the 2003 NCAA Tournament semifinals.
